You must listen to your body in order to heal the disconnection between your body, heart, and mind.
“The body doesn’t lie.” –Terry Tempest Williams
Our body speaks to us through symptoms—pain, numbness, tightness, weight gain, sleeplessness. If we slow down to investigate and be present with the sensations in the body, we open to the possibility of understanding what our body is trying to tell us. After we slow down and become still, the next step is to ask our body what it is trying to tell us, what it is that it would like for us to know. This process can be undertaken by speaking silently or aloud to the body or by practicing mindful journaling. Wait silently for the answer. Listen to your body. If you don’t hear anything at first, try to continue the practice with kindness and curiosity and see what emerges.
