Mindfulness Coaching

Jen Johnson mindfulness coach. Inspiring peaceful & creative minds

Mindfulness Coach

Mindfulness coaching can help you increase awareness and cultivate a greater sense of inner peace, happiness, and wellbeing. As your awareness grows, you begin to live more intentionally and create a more inspired and meaningful life.

As a mindfulness coach and licensed therapist with 40+ years of experience in mindfulness practice and teaching, I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected — and who want to reconnect with themselves, their creativity, and what matters most.

Reasons People Work with a Mindfulness Coach

  • Your racing mind and heart keep you up at night
  • You’ve lost touch with what matters most
  • You just can’t seem to commit to a regular mindfulness practice
  • You feel disconnected from your creativity or sense of purpose
  • You struggle with perfectionism, self-criticism, or imposter syndrome

What is Mindfulness Coaching?

Mindfulness is awareness of the present moment — paying attention to your experience on purpose, with kindness and without judgment.

Through mindfulness practice, you learn to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions without avoiding them or becoming overwhelmed by them. Over time this builds resilience, emotional balance, and a greater capacity to notice moments of joy, connection, and ease.

A mindfulness coach teaches and supports you in developing a regular mindfulness practice and integrating it into daily life so it becomes a practical, embodied skill — not just a concept. This supports greater clarity, steadiness, and self-trust in everyday living.

Working with a mindfulness coach who is also trained as a therapist is particularly valuable if you have experienced trauma. A trauma-informed approach ensures the practice supports rather than overwhelms you.

Whatever you rest your attention on grows.

How Mindfulness Coaching Can Support You

Mindfulness coaching with Jen is tailored to where you are and what you need. Areas of focus include:

Mindfulness for Stress Management and Resilience
Learn to calm your nervous system, work skillfully with difficult thoughts and emotions, and cultivate greater resilience and inner steadiness. Learn mindfulness practices that promote health and wellness and overall wellbeing.

Mindfulness and Creativity
Mindfulness naturally awakens creativity. When we learn to quiet the inner critic and settle into present-moment awareness, we open space for inspiration, original thinking, and creative flow. Many of Jen’s clients are writers, artists, and creatives who find that a regular mindfulness practice transforms not only their creative work but their relationship to the creative process itself. Writing can be a profound mindfulness practice. Jen integrates reflective and therapeutic writing into her coaching work as a tool for self-inquiry, processing difficult experiences, and cultivating greater self-awareness. For those who feel called to writing as a healing and creative path, Jen offers therapeutic writing coaching → and Writing as Refuge™ workshops.

Mindfulness for Gifted Adults

Jen’s Approach to Mindfulness Coaching

Jen’s mindfulness coaching is grounded in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn — one of the most well-researched mindfulness frameworks in the world. She has been teaching mindfulness and meditation for 40+ years and trained directly with Kabat-Zinn through the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical Center.

Mindfulness coaching essions draw on formal meditation practices — including sitting meditation, body scan, and open awareness meditation — alongside guidance in integrating mindfulness informally into everyday life. Coaching is offered 1:1 via Zoom, worldwide.

Whether you are brand new to mindfulness or have an existing practice you’d like to deepen, Jen meets you where you are.

Why Work with a Mindfulness Coach?

If you have tried practicing mindfulness on your own without success, working with an experienced mindfulness coach can help you develop a regular practice, deepen what you already have, and integrate mindfulness into your everyday life in a way that actually sticks.

When you work with Jen, you will have support in learning how to meditate, answers to the questions that naturally arise in practice, and wise guidance as your practice deepens. You will learn how to cultivate a peaceful mind and calm body — and how to live an intentional, creatively inspired life.

Create a Mindful Life

Mindfulness practice begins as something you do — and over time becomes a way of being. When your body is calm and your mind is steady, you naturally access greater clarity, creativity, and self-trust. You begin to make choices that align with your values rather than your fears.

Working with Jen, you will learn to cultivate an intentional life rooted in presence — not as an ideal to achieve, but as a living practice that deepens with time.

Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
