Cultivating courage with mindfulness, we create a greater sense of agency in our lives. Each week I hear stories in my office and my classes from people who are struggling with something but are afraid to talk about it, because they feel shame and they fear what others will think of them. In my experience, a lot of what makes each one of us uniquely beautiful is our vulnerability surrounding our challenges or struggles.
Every single one of us struggles with something at one time or another. Our vulnerability to struggle is a part of our shared humanity. When we learn to release the shame, own our story, and allow ourselves to be seen, we open to the possibility of personal and spiritual freedom. And in doing so, we pave the way for others to see that they are not alone in their struggle.
Mindful Journaling prompts:
What can you do today to own a piece of your story and allow your beautiful self to be seen by someone whom you trust?
How can you practice cultivating courage?
