Ecological Grief: Practice & Presence with the Living World
This monthly one-hour climate grief workshop offers a gentle, welcoming space to tend ecological grief together. Through guided meditation, reflective writing, and ritual, we practice presence with the living world—making room for our sorrow, beauty, and reverence for the Earth.
Rather than seeking answers or solutions, we come together in this climate grief workshop to listen, to honor loss and aliveness, and to remember our belonging within the living world. This is a space for honesty, care, and quiet connection—with the Earth and with one another.

Ecological grief, or called climate grief, is the sorrow, anger, and distres that arise as we witness environmental loss. It can be a response to wildfires, rising seas, increased frequency and severity of storms, hurricanes, disappearing species, changing seasons that no longer feel familiar, or to places we love that are slowly transforming. Some people experience it as climate anxiety or a persistent sense of dread about the future. Others feel numbness, guilt, or helplessness.
Climate grief is often a sign of care. It reflects our deep attachment to the living world and our longing for continuity, beauty, and belonging. When this grief is unacknowledged, it can become isolating. When it is named and shared, it can become connective and clarifying.
In a supportive space, climate grief can be tended with honesty and compassion—honoring both sorrow and love for the Earth, while strengthening our capacity to stay present in a changing world.
