TYPES OF THERAPEUTIC TAPPING
In addition to EFT Tapping, TWR / Transformative Wholistic Reintegration is another method of therapeutic tapping that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and pain. TWR is a method that combines Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, or EMDR, and EFT techniques.
EFT is a technique that is widely taught on the internet and by people who are not qualified mental healthcare professionals as a palliative approach to discomfort. This approach is somewhat different from EFT tapping as a therapy treatment for anxiety, trauma, or pain.
A tapping therapist who is licensed to practice counseling or therapy can assist you with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, or PTSD. Tapping in therapy can help you to reduce symptoms of mental health concerns. Tapping for therapy may help you to address the root of your concerns.
Tapping Therapy for Anxiety
If you’re feeling anxiety a lot of the time, it’s likely impacting you at home and at work. Maybe it’s causing you to feel a sense of dread about doing things that you used to do (or want to do) with a sense of ease. Perhaps you have become more isolated from others, are having difficulty focusing your attention on work or listening to your friends. Maybe the anxiety is interfering with your ability to sleep.
Anxiety can cause all sorts of uncomfortable sensations and feelings — butterflies in your stomach, feelings of fear, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, increased heart rate, tingling in your body, gastrointestinal symptoms, feelings of low self-confidence or self-esteem, insomnia, panic attacks, and a host of other symptoms.
Whether you’re doing tapping therapy for anxiety, pain, or PTSD, the goal is decreasing symptoms of anxiety and emotional and physical pain and increasing a sense of calm, ease, well-being, and happiness.
