Our natural inclination is to silence the inner critic, but when we fight something, it tends to energetically grow stronger, and we then beat up on ourselves for even having this internal struggle. It’s possible to be kind and self-compassionate and still hold yourself accountable.

We compare our insides to everyone else’s outsides and decide that since everyone else looks fine, they must be fine, and therefore, something must be wrong with us. And then we beat ourselves up because we believe something is wrong with us. It’s a vicious cycle that often affects our self-esteem.

Meet Your Instructor, Jen Johnson:

Jen Johnson is a mindfulness teacher and coach. She has been teaching mindfulness and offering counseling and coaching for 30+ years. Jen teaches people how to develop a regular mindfulness practice and integrate it into daily life. She has helped thousands of people to increase awareness and develop a kind and compassionate relationship with themselves. Jen loves teaching people how to use neuroscience based practices to transform their lives.  

What’s included in the course:

  • daily email lessons delivered to your inbox for 15 days
  • the lessons include neuroscience-based self-compassion practices and practical strategies you can implement immediately to be kinder to yourself
  • downloadable audio mp3 meditation recordings to cultivate self-compassion
  • creative prompts to help you more deeply integrate the material

The email lessons will offer a deeper look into the neuroscience of self-compassion and why it works. They will also teach you practical strategies that you can use to cultivate self-compassion and treat yourself with kindness.

You can work through the lessons at a time that is convenient for you. The course is appropriate for  beginning, intermediate and advanced mindfulness practitioners.

The lessons will include mindful writing journal and photography prompts to help you more deeply integrate the material that you’re learning. No writing or photography experience is required, and you don’t need a fancy camera. A cell phone camera works great. In fact, it’s preferable.

The first lesson will deliver approximately 24-48 hours after purchase.

Continuing Education for Yoga Teachers Through Yoga Alliance

This course offers 14 hours of non-contact hours of continuing education credit for Yoga Teachers through Yoga Alliance in the Techniques, Training, and Practice category. Jen is a registered yoga teacher with the E-RYT designation and meets the Yoga Alliance requirements for offering continuing education courses.

In order to receive continuing education credit through Yoga Alliance, you must complete all of the lessons. This includes reading the emails, listening to the guided meditations on a daily basis, completing the tracking forms, and completing the course evaluation form. If you do not complete the course in full, you will not receive credit for the course.

In order to receive a certificate of completion, email Jen after you complete the course.
