Being at Home with Yourself

Coming home to yourself involves encountering lost, unremembered aspects of self and the world evokes a feeling of connection and belonging. There is a return to our body, a stirring in our heart center, a feeling of desire, an experience of falling in love. A remembering.

“Much of my work is propelled by the desire to be reunited with lost, unremembered aspects of self and world.”  –Carole Maso

The heart wakes up, coming home to yourself. An old dream is re-encountered, a familiar passion is reignited, or a sense of aliveness is reawakened. We can return home again and again in the stillness through following the breath and through creating encounters with that which causes us to feel most alive. This weekend I fell in love with a spiral in the bottom of a bowl.

This feeling of being at home with yourself is a positive emotional states. When we cultivate positive emotional states, this encourages healing for the body, heart, and mind. It reduces stress, and it also builds inner resources for resilience.
