Listening to Your Life

Listening to your life can help you to live more intentionally and with a greater sense of peace and happiness.

“What is the feedback your life gives you?” – Gregg Levoy

In certain situations, such as school or a close relationship, we learn to alter our behavior based on feedback that we receive. But how many of us pay attention to the feedback that our life gives us and alter our behavior accordingly?

How do we feel in our body—relaxed and at peace, or stressed, overwhelmed, not sleeping, and struggling with our relationship with food? How do we feel in our heart—open to what arises in ourselves, willing to be vulnerable and let others get close to us, or closing down to our experience and shutting others out? How do we feel in our minds—calm, quiet, and spacious, or filled with worry and regret?

How are our lives working? Are we moving through our days with relative ease, experiencing moments of joy each day, or are we experiencing life to be difficult and staying in a rut of negative thinking? Listening to your life and paying to the feedback from your body, heart, mind can help you to feel a greater sense of life satisfaction. If you’re feeling stressed or unwell or you don’t like the direction in which your life is going, perhaps it’s time to do something differently. Don’t wait for a crisis to propel you into action. Take action today toward being more empowered and developing a greater sense of peace, happiness, and resilience.
