Mindfulness creativity and healing practices can support our wellbeing. Mindfulness is awareness of the present moment with kindness and curiosity. Creativity practices keep our attention focused on the present moment and allow us to be rather than get entangled in so much doing.
My favorite holistic optometrist once said to me that the key to reclaiming my power, seeing my life clearly, and healing my body was “more being and less doing.” I willingly followed his prescription for healing and found it to be true. In doing so, I also discovered that this practice of more being facilitated a greater creative flow energy. Mindfulness is known for encouraging a habit of more being and less doing. Recent studies show that mindfulness has a positive impact on creativity.
How do you enjoy expressing your creativity? Writing, photography, painting, drawing, knitting, sewing, baking, cooking, creative play with children, inventing something new, creating a new work project?
Go ahead, try it. More being and less doing. Mindfulness creativity and healing practices nourish our wellbeing. Enjoy the creative flow!
